If you spend the summer with your children in the village or at the dacha, then do not forget that drinking unboiled fresh milk is dangerous. It can cause not only diarrhea in an unprepared organism, but also become a source of a dangerous infection – brucellosis.

Such outbreaks happen periodically. For example, the authorities of the Samara region introduced quarantine in one of the city districts due to the discovery of this dangerous infection. It is also called Gibraltar fever, Cyprus fever, Malta fever or Bang disease.

Most often, brucellosis is contracted from raw, unboiled milk, straight from the cow, if the animal is infected. For example, if you buy fresh milk from private sellers and consume it without boiling it. You can also become infected by eating cheese if it is made from unpasteurized milk.

Symptoms of brucellosis: high fever, headache, nausea, diarrhea. If antibacterial therapy is not started in time, complications are possible – damage to the musculoskeletal system, nervous, genitourinary, cardiovascular systems, even hallucinations and memory loss.

When boiling, these dangerous bacteria die immediately.

Large and small livestock (cows, sheep, goats), as well as pigs and dogs suffer from brucellosis. To diagnose animals for this disease, veterinary services conduct tests. All private farms must comply with the requirements for keeping livestock and checking them for the presence of infection.

In any case, if you buy fresh milk from private owners, grandmothers in the village, then you cannot drink it raw, and you must boil it before use.
